The following mechanics can be found in Match-3 mode:
- Rope Ladder
The player must make combinations next to any part of the Rope Ladder to gradually pull it up from the board. - Crossbow
The Crossbow can destroy all clues in the row it targets. To fire a Crossbow, match a combination of clues of the same color next to it.
After each move the crossbow turns, changing direction. - Mystery Sack
To open the mystery sack, you should match it with clues of the same color. There may be both a useful bonus or a serious nuisance inside. - Chains
To remove chains from a clue, match it with other clues or detonate a Flask, Tesla Sphere, or Charge near it. - Magician’s Box
The player must place the required clues in the Magician’s Box. When filled, the box will disappear, making the investigation much easier. - Artist’s Palette
Make combinations next to the Artist’s Palette by removing clues of the same color. The palette will disappear once there is no more paint. - Tesla Sphere
Match clues in adjacent cells to overload the Tesla Sphere. It will result in a massive plasma discharge that will destroy all clues of the same type. - Stream
The stream shifts clues by one cell every move. If there is more than one in the level, they will be highlighted in different colors. - Devil’s Ink
To remove devil’s ink, match clues in adjacent cells in a row. You can’t let ink fill the whole field. - Ominous Bottle
The inhabitant of the Ominous Bottle never gets tired. It will still produce ink even after you’ve cleared all the tiles. - Brush
Combine clues of the same color next to the Brush, or touch it with the effects of special clues to fill it with paint. The filled Brush repaints 3 rows in front of it in its color. - Envelope
Match three clues on top of the envelopes to remove them from the field. - Mailbox
Match Mailboxes to reveal the letters beneath them that need to be removed. - Ice
You cannot move something that is frozen in ice. To free an icebound clue, combine it with clues of the same color. - Valise
Remove clues underneath the valise to drop it down and eventually remove it from the field. - Faustus the Cat
Use treats to lure Faustus the cat out and help him find the way to his basket. - Feather
Remove feathers from the field by matching nearby clues. - Coin Purse
Match clues in adjacent cells to open the Coin Purse — its contents will help in your investigation. - Portal
Every clue that falls into it appears on the other side of the portal. - Steam Boiler
Collect clues of the corresponding color to heat up the Steam Boiler and cause a 5x5 cell explosion. - Jigsaw Puzzle
To remove the jigsaw puzzle, the player must find missing pieces in colored pouches by making combinations next to them. - Butterfly
To catch a butterfly, match it with clues of the same color. The butterfly will fly away if it reaches the top of the field! - Order
Match clues in adjacent cells to insert a gem in the Order. Once all the gems are in place, the Orders will disappear from the field. - Closed Door
Use a Poison Flask or a charge to break open the lock on the Closed Door. After that, match clues in adjacent cells to destroy the door itself. - Suspicious Trail
Collect combinations of clues to find Suspicious Trails under fallen leaves. - Magic Mirror
Collect the clues under the Magic Mirror to receive what it shows. But remember: it cannot be trusted... - Bomb
Remove all Bombs while the fuses are still burning. If a Bomb goes off, you will have to restart the level. - Locked Chest
To remove a Locked Chest from the field, bring a Key to it. - Balloon
Match Balloons with clues of the same color to clear them from the field. Don’t let Balloons fly away. - Box
To break Boxes, match clues next to them. Especially sturdy Boxes will have to be broken several times. - Dice
To reduce the number showing on the dice, make a row of clues in adjacent cells. Reach zero and the dice will disappear from the field. - Barriers
Barriers do not interfere with collecting the clues located on different sides, but they greatly slow down the process. You cannot remove a barrier from the field. - Colored Box
Match clues of the matching color next to a Colored Box to break it. - Poison Flask
Match five clues to get a Poison Flask.
Match the Flask with clues of the same color to detonate it.
When detonated, it will destroy clues in a 3x3 cell area. - Charge
Match four clues of the same color to get a Charge.
Match the Charge with a clue of the same color to remove the whole row. - Colored Sphere
Match five clues in a row to get a Colored Sphere.
Match the Sphere with a nearby clue to remove all clues of the same color.
