Investigating crime scenes always takes place in one of the modes, which determines the search conditions. Most often, this is Words or Timed Mode. In these cases, the names of the pieces of evidence you need to find are shown at the bottom of the window. This is not the only option, though. For example, in the Silhouettes mode, instead of the names of objects, you see their outlines.
You can determine the search mode based on the special badge next to the location image.
The following regular evidence search modes are available:
- Words/Timed Mode: the names of the pieces of evidence you need to find are shown at the bottom of the window.
- Silhouettes: instead of the names of objects, you see their outlines in the bottom of the window.
- Pairs: in this mode, you have to find similar items. They are marked on the list with x2. An item is only considered found if you also find the pair.
- Night: this mode is similar to Words/Timed Mode, but with a limited area of visibility. Everything outside of this area is darkened.
- Photo Archive: in this mode, the screen is divided into two parts. On the left is a photo of the crime scene in the past, and on the right is the current location. Your job is to spot the differences between the two images.
- Abracadabra: this mode is similar to Words/Timed Mode, but the letters of the names of items are scrambled.
