The search mode changes automatically after you successfully investigate a scene. Also, you can disable modes manually using medals. Every medal has a certain duration. For example, the “Day Shift” medal disables the Night mode for 30 minutes, and the “Excellent Memory” medal disables the Photo Archive mode for 1.5 hours.
